Latest scoop on the 2010 BC Cup Races:
- The Series will remain at the best 5 of 7 races for both XC and DH with the only change being that Finals will not be mandatory due to location and therefore travel costs. Welcome aboard the BC Cup train Kicking Horse!
- New races added to the series includes a XC and DH hosted by Oak Bay Bikes and Robin Dutton in Nanaimo (also part of the Vancouver Island MTB Series).
- Arduum is back on the calendar and fortunately for us picked up by Rob Venables of Dunbar Cycles and Dan Gronross
- Rat Race as we know it by name is no longer, but the race continues under new organization by the local MTB Club, and is called the Sunshine Coaster
- We are pleased to have Junkyard Dog XC back on the calendar under the organization of SORCE and Cycling BC.
- Kicking Horse DH BC Cup Finals has moved to Aug 29th so not to conflict with Canada Cup in Quebec
And more BC news…
- The Vancouver Island Series is back strong for 2010 with 14 races on the calendar
- We have a stronger, unified calendar with the addition of the Squamish Races (Ore Crusher, Test of Metal, Gear Jammer & the new Gear Jammer DH & new XC marathon, Just Another Bike Race).
- BC will host at least 2 National DH Events including Nationals and a Can Cup at Panorama (Sun Peaks Can Cup still TBD)
- Changes will be coming to the Citizen categories for XC- stay tuned.
