Overall Points Calculations

• All riders finishing the race and placing 15th or deeper will get 2 points.
• Any rider not finishing the race will get zero points.
• If you move up a category part way through the year you will retain 50% of the value of your points from the lower category.
• For the DH Series we will combine all events.
• Ties for the series will be determined by results at the finals in Port Alice
• Double Points are awarded in Port Alice
• For the XC Series we will have a best 6 out of 9 races.
• Ties for the series will be determined by results at the finals on Hornby Island
• Double Points are awarded in Port Alice

To save time and disappointment on race day, we recommend you purchase your license before your 1^st race of the Series!

Please note that a new system is in place for Cycling BC insurance.

How to choose your license?

Decide what races you are going to attend then answer the following questions:

1. Am I doing only one event?

• If Yes – choose an  Affiliated Club Member – Individual

• If No – continue to Question 2

2. Am I participating in more than one event which are hosted by the same club? (Example the Hammerfest XC and DH hosted by Arrowsmith MTB Club)

• If Yes – choose an Affiliated Club Member – Individual
• If No – continue to question 3

3. Am I collecting BC Cup Points?

• If Yes – choose a UCI Race License
• If No – choose a Citizen Race License

Please note – if you have already purchased your Club Membership, you will have to contact Cycling BC directly to upgrade to a Citizen Race License

Finally

Once you have purchased your license, just print the receipt and bring it to the event with you. This will help save time and hassles onsite.

Please note – we will have a limited number of paper forms at registration for those who are unable to purchase online or are too late to do so.

For riders under 19, a waiver must be signed and faxed to Cycling BC.  Parents must be present for “Race Day” license purchase.
